Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to meet and develop a bond in a family way with Barbara. However, I did so with her wonderful younger sister, June, whom had shared that Barbara had some tough rungs in her life's ladder to overcome, but despite those difficulties she was determined to be a good mother and steadfastly maintained an upbeat attitude to ease the journey of those with her. That said, I thought the least I could do to memorialize her, was to select a beautiful musical requiem hymn and dedicate it to her, my 2nd cousin, Barbara Anne Frizell Heck, who after a heroic protracted struggle against cancer, passed Saturday eve, on January 2nd at the tender age of 79 while being cared for at my alma mater's medical school hospital.
