I am writing now, several months after Ivy's death, as I just found out that she has passed. I want to offer my profound sadness and condolences. I did not know Ivy was battling cancer. We worked together at the CSE "Per Session" and I always enjoyed seeing Ivy and I always went to her with questions or for help, which she always gave so freely and generously. Ivy always inquired about my family and it was so clear how much she loved her own! I was always impressed by her spirit and openness. She will be missed and thought of often!

Ivy was a good friend and we shared many experiences while traveling together. Our birthdays are also one day apart and we looked forward to celebrating every year . Ivy was always thinking of her sons and had boundless energy . She was always one step ahead and lived most days as though they were her last . I am glad she did. I will miss her always and share my condolences to her family. Rest In Peace my friend.

Ivy and I were instant friends when we met almost 40 years ago at the School Based Support Team, District 13, Brooklyn , New York. We shared our lives, mostly joys...the birth of Michael and Jonathan and our love of dogs and loses of parents and life challenges. I admired her joy of the moment and her ability to take chances. She never missed an opportunity to go to a show, to try a new restaurant , take a trip near or far, or even to go to the Soap Opera Emmy Awards. She was always the natural beauty in the crowd. Ivy, you have been a wonderful friend and I will miss you dearly. I know the Angels will take care of you ! Love always, Linda Goldsmith
